Saturday night was really warm and nice so we decided to try camping for the very first time. Daddy set up the tent and we put our sleeping bags inside and we each brought a stuffed animal (Meghan brought several stuffed lions). Daddy read us some spooky campfire stories so we were a little scared, but Daddy slept in the tent with us so we were OK. It was really hot and humid and hard to fall asleep, but eventually we did. Daddy said it was well past 11:00 PM. Mommy slept in the nice cool house. - Luke

Luke: How come old photographs are always black and white? Didn't they have color film back then?
Dad: Sure they did. In fact, those old photographs are in color. It's just that the world was black and white then. The world didn't turn color until sometime in the 1930s, and it was pretty grainy color for a while, too

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Following tonight’s dinner, Daddy made us chocolate chip cookies. I helped to put in the ingredients. I liked when Daddy opened the egg and made egg juice. After we mixed everything together, we ran upstairs to take a bath while the cookies were in the oven. Mommy and Daddy took Me and Meghan to look at dinosaur bones on Saturday. Nanna and Buppa met us at the museum. It was really fun. I saw a T-Rex. We also saw a lot of animals from Michigan, like coyotes and foxes and wolves. Daddy said they were stuffed - I guess they ate too much. We went to a place called a planetarium and saw a movie about space and we looked at the stars. I took pictures. - Luke

Hairless Sneetch

Now the Star Belly Sneetches, each have a small tuft of hair,

on the tops of their heads, as Dr. Seuss put 'em there.

The hairs aren’t too much, they're just a few strands

But to five year old, they just shouldn’t stand.

So with safety scissors in tow, and determination in mind

Luke promptly cut off the Sneetch’s hair in kind.

It seemed so innocent, maybe even a bit fun,

But when it was over, Luke said “what have I done?!”.

“This cannot be fixed, it will not grow back,

The Sneetch now looks silly, and that is a fact.”

“I should admit my error and repent my mistake,

Ask for forgiveness and eat a big steak.”

My hairs are called whiskers, and they’re on my cheeks.

Luke cut them all off, with scissors that are safe

Grandma's Gingerbread

On Saturday we went to the Chelsea Christmas parade. There were nice decorations in town, some fun decorated cars and we even saw Santa and Mrs. Claus

After the parade, we went to LaFuentes for Mexican Food. We saw Santa and Mrs. Claus there too. It's rumored that Santa likes Enchiladas. Santa told me he was going back to the North Pole to feed the reindeer after eating. -Luke

Today was the last soccer game of the season. I was very cold at the beginning of the game and put my arms inside my shirt to keep warm. Daddy said that I wouldn't be able to run very fast like that, but I was cold! At the end of the game, we got a special soccer medal for our good season. - Luke

Today we went to where Daddy works to see Santa. I sat on Santa's lap and asked him for a soccer ball and a dinosaur. Daddy asked Santa for a comprehensive loan package for the Big 3 automakers. Santa said he couldn't guarantee that as the government is currently considering outsourcing his job to a Low Cost Country. Meghan wouldn't sit on Santa's lap. I sat on Santa's lap in exchange for a candy cane. Why do they make them taste like toothpaste? Disappointing to say the least.

Christmas Tree

Today we set up our Christmas tree. Daddy took the tree out of the box and set it in the stand and Mommy, Meghan and I put decorations on it. We also made cookies and ate them.

Today it snowed. Daddy and I made a snowman while Meghan was taking a nap. We used food coloring to paint the snowmans face, except we used a carrot for his nose. I called him Frosty.

Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving day is today. Grandma came to my house and we had lots and lots of food. Mommy cooked a turkey. I liked the sweet potatoes with the mini marshmallows on top. Meghan ate a lot of food, more than me. Grandma asked what I was thankful for and I said my toys. That made Mommy and Daddy laugh.

Toledo Zoo - Lights before Christmas

Tonight Mommy and Daddy took us to the Toledo Zoo to see the Christmas lights. It was very cold so Meghan and I wore a lot of clothes, except Meghan wouldn't wear her pink mittens. Mommy had some blue Thomas the Train mittens and Meghan thought those would be OK and she decided to wear them instead. Daddy said there were over one million Christmas lights. They were all different colors, and some looked like animals. Most of the animals were sleeping, but we saw the Polar Bears up close!

Birthday Party at Grandma's house!

Today I went to Grandma's house with Mommy and Daddy and Meghan. Aunt Clarice and Uncle Lowell were there too. I opened presents and had some cake. My favorite was a toy truck with a jet ski on a trailer. Meghan got some presents too.

Today is my Birthday. I am FOUR. I had a very fun day at school. I gave presents to my friends to celebrate. My teachers said that I had "Birthday Buzz". That made Mommy and Daddy laugh. After dinner my friend Cody came to my house and gave me a present. We had cake and ice cream and played with my trains.

Birthday Party at Nanna & Buppa's

Today we went to Nanna and Buppa's to celebrate my Birthday. We also celebrated Daddy and Uncle John's Birthday too, but they didn't get as many presents as me. Great Grandpa & Aunt Cherie were there and Uncle Mark & Aunt Chalese and my Cousin Sommer & Cousin Evan. Mommy and Meghan were there too.

My birthday cake was chocolate with white frosting and dinosaurs on top. I could even eat the stones, they were candy!

Meghan helped me open presents, but she was more interested in playing with the train set.

I did a treasure hunt and opened lots of presents. Nanna and Buppa gave me a Stegosaurus. I like Stegosauruses because they have a spikey tail. My favorite part of the party was the treasure hunt and opening presents. On the way home I was tired and fell asleep. Meghan fell asleep too.

Sunday Dress

Grandma got Meghan a new dress for Church. She really didn't want to wear it and it took both Mommy and Daddy together to get the dress on Meghan. After it was on, Meghan cried. I told Meghan that she looked beautiful, but that didn't help, she still cried.

Hands On Museum

It was rainy today so Mommy and Daddy took Me and Meghan to the Ann Arbor Hands On Museum. We had fun touching all the exhibits. Meghan liked the gears and I liked spinning the bearings. Mommy brought an extra big bottle of hand sanitizer too. On the way home we got stuck in the traffic from the Michigan football game. Daddy said Michigan lost the game and he wondered if the new coach was worth all that money. I liked to see all the people wearing yellow, it's my favorite color. Meghan was sleeping and didn't see anything.

Early this morning, I heard a big BANG from outside in the forest. Daddy told me it was a hunter and that I should wear my orange hat for the next two weeks. Meghan too.
